Kimbo: Home

Self taught on guitar and drawing on such varied influences as U2, Indigo Girls & Phish, Kimbo is a handwritten poem in a world of power point presentations. With a powerfully haunting voice, a unique rhythmic guitar style which avoids conventional chords, & evocative, thought provoking lyrics, her style is all her own. Kimbo began performing professionally and with conviction after years of informal shows. She has been composing since the age of 15 (although some say since the age of 3) and has countless original songs to her credit. Kimbo absolutely loves performing live. She has earned the phrase, "Funky Dory" because she is just that. If you've never seen Kimbo play live you may not know how the "Funky Dory" fits her...but it does. She connects with her audience through her poignant songs and her genuine enthusiasm for music. Her songs dance around a progressive folk rock genre and she loves every bit of it. You can tell! You can feel it! The devotion to her guitar and metaphorical writing becomes clear as she sings so melodically over her music.

"Spokes", Kimbo's new album, was produced by Mark Hallman and released Earth Day 2008 by Sunny Groves Music.
