Kimbo: Kimbo's Room

Hmmm, things you probably don't know about Kimbo...

Kimbo is a soccer (or futbol) nut.  She has played most of her life and follows the Premier League (preferably Chelsea).  She mostly played left or center wing and occasional center midfielder because of her ball handling strengths.

She also really enjoys being on a bike.  A fan of road racing and Lance Armstrong, Kimbo also loves changing her tires and going fat on the trails.  She thinks it would be uber cool to attend the Tour de France...or even the Giro d'Italia.

Kimbo has lived with Type 1 Diabetes for almost 23 years.  Diagnosed at 9 in Boston, Massachusetts, Kimbo chooses to live a healthy life and take care of herself.  This is of key importance.  A stressful profession demands constant vigilance.  She also volunteers her time for the Juvenille Diabetes Research Foundation when it is needed.  Kimbo wears a 712 Medtronic MiniMed Pump which makes it easier to regulate her diabetes.

"My pump's name is Little Ann...from 'Where the Red Fern Grows'.  My dog (the namesake of Sunny Groves Music) was named Dan and my middle name is Ann it's a perfect fit."

"I'm crazy about classical music.  I've seen John Williams conduct The Boston Pops on July 4th.  A life changing concert for me.  I've seen many other classical concerts.  Not a huge fan of Opera but still appreciate it.

People find it funny that I love classical music so much but I listen to Phish, Grateful Dead, Muse, Dave Matthew's Band...etc. etc. etc. Itzhak Pearlman & Yoyo Ma are two of my favorite players, although Joshua Bell and others rank up there too. They have as distinctive a voice as human voices.  I can listen to a piece and hear Itzhak's voice from his violin."

I wish I could cook better than I do.  I can, sort of, prepare meals but I want to be able to 'create' food beyond what I've been around so far in my life.
